The emergence of Industry 4.0 has accelerated the adoption of advanced digital technologies in manufacturing environments. Among these technologies, Digital Twin has gained considerable attention due to its ability to create virtual representations of physical assets, processes, and production systems. Digital Twin technology enables real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, process optimization, and intelligent decision-making through continuous synchronization between physical and virtual environments. This paper presents a comprehensive review of Digital Twin technology in intelligent manufacturing, discussing its architecture, enabling technologies, industrial applications, benefits, implementation challenges, and future research directions. The study also explores the integration of Digital Twins with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, edge computing, and big data analytics. The findings indicate that Digital Twin technology has the potential to transform manufacturing operations by improving productivity, reducing operational costs, enhancing product quality, and supporting sustainable industrial development.
