Conflict of Interest Policy

Conflict of Interest Policy

Jana Nexus: Journal of Computer Science is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and objectivity in scholarly publishing. A conflict of interest exists when personal, financial, professional, institutional, or other relationships could influence, or appear to influence, the research, review, editorial decision-making, or publication process.

The journal requires authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may affect the impartiality and credibility of the publication process.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, academic, institutional, or commercial relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research findings, interpretation of results, or conclusions presented in the manuscript.

Examples of potential conflicts of interest include:

• Financial support, grants, or sponsorships related to the research.

• Employment, consultancy, advisory positions, or paid affiliations.

• Ownership of patents, intellectual property rights, or commercial interests related to the research.

• Personal or professional relationships that may affect the objectivity of the study.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should state that they have no conflicts of interest to declare.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their ability to provide an objective and impartial evaluation of a manuscript. Reviewers should decline review invitations if:

• They have collaborated closely with the authors.

• They have personal, professional, or financial relationships with the authors or institutions involved.

• They have competing interests that may compromise their impartiality.

• They stand to benefit directly or indirectly from the publication or rejection of the manuscript.

Editor Responsibilities

Editors and editorial board members must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest. When a conflict exists, the manuscript shall be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an independent and unbiased editorial decision.

Editors must not use unpublished information obtained through the editorial process for personal advantage and must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted materials.

Management of Conflicts of Interest

The journal evaluates disclosed conflicts of interest on a case-by-case basis. When necessary, appropriate measures may be taken to protect the integrity of the review and publication process, including reassignment of reviewers or editors, additional review, disclosure statements, or other corrective actions.

Failure to Disclose Conflicts

Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest may result in manuscript rejection, withdrawal of a submitted manuscript, publication correction, article retraction, or other actions deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.

Commitment to Transparency

Jana Nexus: Journal of Computer Science believes that transparent disclosure of conflicts of interest helps maintain trust in scientific research and scholarly communication. The journal encourages all participants in the publication process to act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism to ensure the credibility of published research.
