Manuscript Preparation And Formatting

Authors are requested to strictly follow the below guidelines while preparing their manuscripts for submission to Jana Nexus: Journal of Computer Science (JN:JCS).

 1. General Formatting Guidelines

  • Manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx only).

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size:

    • Title: 16 pt, Bold

    • Author names: 12 pt, Bold

    • Main text: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5 line spacing

  • Text alignment: Justified

  • Page numbers: Bottom center

PDF files will not be accepted.

 2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

a) Title Page

  • Concise and informative title

  • Full name(s) of author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation(s)

  • Corresponding author’s name, email address, contact number, and full postal address

b) Abstract

  • 150–250 words

  • Should clearly state:

    • Background

    • Objective

    • Methodology

    • Results

    • Conclusion

  • Avoid references and abbreviations.

c) Keywords

  • 4–6 relevant keywords

  • Separated by commas

d) Main Text

The manuscript should typically contain:

  1. Introduction

  2. Literature Review (if applicable)

  3. Methodology / Proposed Model

  4. Results and Discussion

  5. Conclusion

  6. Future Scope (optional)

Headings and subheadings should be clearly numbered (e.g., 1., 1.1, 1.2).

 3. Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Table 1, etc.).

  • Provide clear captions below figures and above tables.

  • All figures must be clear and high resolution.

  • Refer to each figure/table in the text.

 4. Mathematical Equations

  • Equations should be created using the Equation Editor in MS Word.

  • Number equations consecutively and align numbers to the right.

 5. References

  • References must be formatted consistently.

  • IEEE or APA citation style is acceptable (authors must use one style consistently throughout the paper).

  • All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

  • Prefer recent and relevant references.

 6. Plagiarism Policy

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished work.

  • Similarity index should generally be below 15–20% (excluding references and common phrases).

  • Plagiarism or self-plagiarism will lead to immediate rejection.

 7. Language and Proofreading

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English.

  • Authors are advised to proofread carefully before submission.

  • Poor language quality may delay the review process.

 8. Cover Letter Requirement

Every submission must include a cover letter containing:

  • Declaration of originality

  • Confirmation that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere

  • Corresponding author’s full contact details

The cover letter should be included in the email message when submitting to editor@jananexuscs.com or uploaded along with the manuscript during online submission.
